Hand-spinning silkworm cocoons: soaking hands in water infused with the leaves of the Duoi tree – spinning the thread.
The traditional Nam Cao silk spinning process involves separating the pupae, boiling the cocoons in water infused with the leaves of the fig tree, soaking hands (in cold/warm water), and spinning the silk. Productivity is 70–100 grams per day, mainly by women in their 70s and 80s.
