Description

Silk pillows are made from raw silk fabric and hand-painted by artists.

From cocoons that have had one end cut off to extract the live pupae, artisans process the cocoons by boiling them repeatedly in water for a sufficient amount of time to obtain raw silk.. Next, small clumps of raw silk are hand-flushed, then spun into long strips of silk floss and cut into sections suitable for pillow sizes to make the pillowcase. The pillow filling is made of regular polyester.
