Mentioning “The Silk RoadThe Silk Road was a famous system of trade routes connecting the East and the West. It extended from countries like China, Mongolia, India, Greece, and others to European countries, and Vietnam was also along this route. The main products traded were silk, followed by handicrafts, agricultural products, and more. The Silk Road was considered one of the largest trade routes in the world during ancient times and served as a bridge between Eastern and Western civilizations.

Hansilk's Silk Road Driven by a passion for silk and a desire to revive the traditional craft, young woman Luong Thanh Hanh embarked on this journey. She believes that if it brings her more happiness and contributes more value, she will do it, no matter how difficult the path may be. What's special is that Hanhsilk's journey originated from a dying traditional craft village, the Nam Cao silk weaving village.

The Nam Cao silk weaving village has existed for about 400 years. In the past, its inhabitants prospered thanks to the export of large quantities of silk to Thailand, France, and other countries. However, war and economic crises caused heavy losses to the silk weaving craft. A difficult period came to the village when they faced a deadlock in accessing markets for their products.

Fortunately, Luong Thanh Hanh – Director of Hanhsilk Company – brought a breath of fresh air and positive energy to the village. From just 3 households still practicing weaving, now there are 200 households returning to the craft. Hanhsilk has found its own silk path, which is through these efforts. Core values It has been implemented from that time until now.

  • Our products are always based on truth and quality.

Nam Cao silk products originate from silk threads and are entirely handcrafted, making them unique in the world. The silk threads are hand-spun and completely immersed in cold water. They are then spun, wound, wound onto a loom, woven, and finally dyed and designed according to customer requirements.

The products sold to customers are genuine and of high quality. Although the production volume may not be large, the quality must be guaranteed to meet all requirements before being sold to customers.

  • Always appreciate and be grateful to the artisans.

Their hands and minds transform cocoons and silk threads into exquisite, cherished handcrafted products. These artisans work with passion, not driven by the lure of money, allowing them to continue this craft for 50-60 years. These qualities are more valuable than anything else.

  • Creating a value chain from farmers and artisans to customers.

Hanhsilk We don't just sell fabric or silk; we create a circular value chain from the raw material source for mulberry cultivation and silkworm rearing to product consumption, and even tours of the Nam Cao Thai Binh silk weaving village. These are all values that help customers always love and remember Hanhsilk. Beyond reviving a traditional craft village, Hanhsilk aspires for Vietnamese silk to reach the world, becoming a silk exporting nation known for its exceptional quality.

  • Creating an environment that helps children and younger generations return to the profession.

The generation of artisans who are passionate about their craft are mostly those in their 70s and 80s, so Hanhsilk always hopes to inspire younger generations to continue the legacy of their ancestors. The love for the craft and the development of the Nam Cao silk weaving village has now been recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

For many years, Hanhsilk has organized silk workshops and competitions such as silk product design contests and silk spinning competitions for the children of artisans to create an environment and inspire them to learn about Vietnamese silk and to further appreciate the craft and its people.
